The God who is love made us to be both loved by him and also to love those who are loved by him.
In fact, Jesus said that our love for each other would be our credentials as his followers.
Many view a relationship with God as a vertical relationship, involving only them and God.
Actually, loving God has a horizontal aspect, relationship-wise. We demonstrate our love for God by how we love those he has created.
